The Volunteer Ombudsman serves as an advocate and liaison on behalf of residents of long term care facilities. Our service area includes a 7 county area: Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair, & Washington. The Volunteer provides a regular presence in long-term care facilities to ensure the quality of care and/or quality of life for all residents.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age, with no felony conviction.
- Submit to a state wide criminal history check.
- Free from conflict of interest
- Adhere to the Ombudsman Code of Ethics
- Good communication skills.
- Empathy for residents of long term care facilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of information obtained about residents.
- Exercise discretion and diplomacy in performing job duties.
- Agree to be photographed for an Ombudsman Identification Badge.
